In the 8th match minute, Cabrituba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. Ramiro Loyola, 9 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Marcinho Arruda was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Leonel Paes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. In the 14th minute, Samuca Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oséias Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Róbson Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Diamantino Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cabrituba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nicacio the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonel Paes in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcinho Arruda saved Cabrituba from getting behind. Marcinho Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Marcinho Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dadá Freire got free with Marcinho Arruda in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 38th minute of the match Diamantino Fonseca completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Diamantino Fonseca a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 42nd minute Leonel Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcinho Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcinho Arruda firmly grabbed it by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Leonel Paes made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Leonel Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nicacio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cabrituba's Marcinho Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Paes in the 58th minute of play. With a little luck, Nicacio's Róbson Leão got control of the ball when Sílvio Luís Quaresma tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Nicacio booed when Cabrituba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséias Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Róbson Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sílvio Luís Quaresma in the 74th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dadá Freire in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcinho Arruda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th minute, José Pedro Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcinho Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, Cabrituba's goal looked a bit too open when Dadá Freire came free, but Marcinho Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcinho Arruda came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Nicacio's Leonel Paes. But to his dismay, Leonel Paes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After 93 played minutes Cabrituba got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Saraiva. Cabrituba's Marcinho Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá Freire in the 94th minute of play. After 95 played minutes Cabrituba got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho Oliveira. Marcinho Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dadá Freire in the 96th minute of the match. Nicacio's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
