Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jary's Adrianinho Xavier started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bora Talip in the 5th minute of play forced Jary's goalkeeper Rafinha Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Atlético Independent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rafinha Marinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tadeu Pombal in the 64th minute. Tadeu Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Rafinha Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Loyola hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If Kaká Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kaká Cavalcante in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafinha Marinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Tadeu Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. Jary's players were relieved. With his leg Rafinha Marinho managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Club Atlético Independent's Kaká Cavalcante fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jary's Breno de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Club Atlético Independent's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
