After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Carlos Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C SIMUS THUNDER's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Oliveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andrézinho Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Albertinho Braga fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Riachaozinho SS's protests and gave Albertinho Braga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of E.C SIMUS THUNDER booed when Riachaozinho SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertinho Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Carlos Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernando Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romarinho Da Silva's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Riachaozinho SS's zone, Luiz Paulo Linares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Dias came out of the goal and Luiz Paulo Linares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of E.C SIMUS THUNDER booed when Riachaozinho SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Oliveira in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Dias saved Riachaozinho SS from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Riachaozinho SS's Tadeu Ramos got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Andrézinho Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Riachaozinho SS's zone, Romarinho Da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Dias came out of the goal and Romarinho Da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Riachaozinho SS's Fernando Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romarinho Da Silva in the 38th minute of play. After some careless play in the Riachaozinho SS defense, Carlos Oliveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Dias. The Riachaozinho SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Dias should have stopped the shot. Fernando Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romarinho Da Silva in the 46th minute of play. If Carlos Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nando Arantes was the one to do the kick off. Nando Arantes hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Fernando Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romarinho Da Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Romarinho Da Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Dias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 68th match minute, Riachaozinho SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. When Carlos Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the E.C SIMUS THUNDER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Oliveira couldn't finish the play. Fernando Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romarinho Da Silva in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Miguel Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Carlos Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 86 minutes into the match, Romarinho Da Silva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fernando Dias, 0-4. 90 minutes into the match, Riachaozinho SS's goal looked a bit too open when Romarinho Da Silva came free, but Fernando Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
