But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simão Pires couldn't finish the play. 7 minutes into the game, Ian Linhares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barriero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canoinhas AD the free kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Barriero's Otávio Breckenfeld slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Oséas Camargo. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Oséas Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otávio Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jano da Rocha during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Canoinhas AD's Jano da Rocha got a free kick in the 24th minute. With his leg Oséas Camargo managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Barriero's Simão Pires fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Otávio Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simão Pires's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Oséas Camargo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 35 minutes into the game, Simão Pires cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Oséas Camargo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amílton Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Armando Souza struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Fernando Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canoinhas AD. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Gualter Amorim made the kick off in the second half. Gualter Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Rodrigues having to interfere. Barriero's Otávio Breckenfeld got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oséas Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simão Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Barriero were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Canoinhas AD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anselmo de Amaral took the corner. The corner led Barriero's Anselmo de Amaral to fire away a dangerous shot which Oséas Camargo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With an all-out effort, Canoinhas AD's Fernando Rodrigues threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gualter Amorim, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Otávio Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Canoinhas AD's Oséas Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Pires in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to Canoinhas AD getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Ronaldo Bueno hit a great ball. Armando Souza struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Fernando Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canoinhas AD. Oséas Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Breckenfeld in the 76th minute of play. Simão Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Canoinhas AD's Oséas Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otávio Breckenfeld in the 93rd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Canoinhas AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Barriero.
