Mauro Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Luís Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugo Pombal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Hugo Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Brais in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Cesinha Magalhães made a precise shot to the right of Hugo Pombal. Figueira FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cesinha Magalhães in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hugo Pombal saved Figueira FC from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, Tiago da Cunha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Pombal. Figueira FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiago da Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The RAFA&LIPE fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when RAFA&LIPE's Cesinha Magalhães looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tiago da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Pombal having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in RAFA&LIPE's zone, Cícero Veiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauro Furtado came out of the goal and Cícero Veiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hugo Pombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesinha Magalhães in the 37th minute of the match. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Figueira FC's goalkeeper Hugo Pombal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ronaldinho Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Furtado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After the first half RAFA&LIPE were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cesinha Magalhães to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, RAFA&LIPE's Emílio Valladares got a free kick in the 50th minute. With a little luck, Figueira FC's Hugo Pombal got control of the ball when Cesinha Magalhães tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Freddy Brais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Pombal was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Oscar Arce. 65 minutes into the game, Freddy Brais recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hugo Pombal. Freddy Brais showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. A hard shot by Oscar Arce from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Hugo Pombal's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 79 minutes, Cesinha Magalhães made it 0-9 with a short kick to the right side. Figueira FC's Hugo Pombal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Freddy Brais kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded RAFA&LIPE left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Figueira FC.
