Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Durval Paranaense kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guto Schmidt during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Novo Hamburgo RS booed when Palhal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guto Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Novo Hamburgo RS's Jailson de Moraes got a free kick in the 22nd minute. A collision led to Novo Hamburgo RS getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Jailson de Moraes hit a great ball. Edgard Fonseca was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When André Luís dos Santos fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Novo Hamburgo RS's protests and gave André Luís dos Santos a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Novo Hamburgo RS! In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Palhal. Edgard Fonseca stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gino Nóbrega. 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Vítor Silveira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Novo Hamburgo RS's Gino Nóbrega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Schmidt in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Anísio de Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anísio de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Gino Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gino Nóbrega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor Silveira in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Silveira in the 65th minute of play forced Novo Hamburgo RS's goalkeeper Gino Nóbrega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gino Nóbrega was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gino Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Vítor Silveira in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Novo Hamburgo RS's goal looked a bit too open when Anísio de Toledo came free, but Gino Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 92nd minute of the match Cristóvão Moraes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cristóvão Moraes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Cristóvão Moraes hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When José Vítor Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Palhal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Vítor Silveira couldn't finish the play. After 96 played minutes Novo Hamburgo RS got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Passos. 97 minutes into the match, José Vítor Silveira notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Novo Hamburgo RS's Gino Nóbrega. Gino Nóbrega was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
