In the 4th play minute João Augusto Amaral came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Telmo Botelho. 1-0. In the 14th minute of the match, Bruno Prado got a very nice opportunity to score, but Telmo Botelho was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Ricardinho Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute Aírton Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nando Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 played minutes Altair SC got a freekick which was hit by Délio Ribeiro. 22 minutes into the match, Larangeiras's Bruno Prado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Telmo Botelho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. João Augusto Amarals short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Telmo Botelho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 26 minutes into the game, Mazinho Duarte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Altair SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Larangeiras the free kick. Mazinho Duarte hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Altair SC got a freekick which was hit by Luan Bertassi. João Augusto Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Botelho having to interfere. With a little luck, Altair SC's Telmo Botelho got control of the ball when Jeremias Albuquerque tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Ricardinho Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Larangeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardinho Carioca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telmo Botelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Augusto Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Telmo Botelho having to make a save. Ricardinho Carioca took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Telmo Botelho. Telmo Botelho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Augusto Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Alessandro Prestes notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Larangeiras's Nando Cavalcante. Nando Cavalcante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Altair SC's zone, Ediberto Massa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Botelho came out of the goal and Ediberto Massa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Altair SC's Luan Bertassi got a free kick in the 57th minute. João Augusto Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the game, João Augusto Amaral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Telmo Botelho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 84 played minutes Altair SC got a freekick which was hit by Délio Ribeiro. 85 minutes into the match, Larangeiras's Enrique Ferreira broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Telmo Botelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricardinho Carioca went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. 93 minutes into the match, Ricardinho Carioca notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Altair SC's Telmo Botelho. Telmo Botelho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Larangeiras had played much better football throughout.
