The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Joélson Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. Marquinhos Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurinho Barros's late challenge caught a Pote SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurinho Barros helped the player get up and apologised. Maurinho Barros hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Tales Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marquinhos Soeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Félix went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Pote SC's Marcelo Félix got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Itapu SS's Marquinhos Soeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Itapu SS from getting a goal against them. Emerson Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Toledo having to interfere. Cipriano Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Negri in the 33rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pote SC's zone, Egídio Negri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano Toledo came out of the goal and Egídio Negri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egídio Negri in the 37th minute of play forced Pote SC's goalkeeper Cipriano Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquinhos Soeiro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vágner Berger showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Emerson Galvão made the kick off in the second half. Egídio Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Cipriano Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Tales Prado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marquinhos Soeiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Itapu SS's zone, Marcelo Félix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marquinhos Soeiro came out of the goal and Marcelo Félix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70thth minute of the game Tales Prado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapu SS's Marquinhos Soeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marquinhos Soeiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelo Félix's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. A collision led to Pote SC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Tales Prado hit a great ball. Marquinhos Soeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tales Prado in the 91st minute of play. Marquinhos Soeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tales Prado in the 96th minute of the match.
