When Chiquinho Moreira fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Selbach AD's protests and gave Chiquinho Moreira a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Selbach AD got a freekick which was hit by Chiquinho Moreira. After 6 minutes, Vitório Cavalcante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Selbach AD and the XV de Novembro players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Selbach AD getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Vitório Cavalcante hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Cafu Penha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Manfredo Bastos. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Raúl Seco took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manfredo Bastos. Manfredo Bastos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 28th minute, Raúl Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manfredo Bastos was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Selbach AD's zone, Ioan Lupșe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manfredo Bastos came out of the goal and Ioan Lupșe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hermínio Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the game, Daniel da Rocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. XV de Novembro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Selbach AD the free kick. Daniel da Rocha hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match.

When Raúl Seco came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the XV de Novembro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Seco couldn't finish the play. In the 52nd minute, Chiquinho Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute, Ioan Lupșe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manfredo Bastos was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Valdir das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raúl Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Manfredo Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgílio Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. XV de Novembro had played much better football throughout.
