When Zé Augusto Lopes fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After 83 played minutes Castilho got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Mendes. 85 minutes into the match, Castilho's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Fernandez came free, but Genílson Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Márcio Fernandez made a precise shot to the right of Genílson Montenegro. Castilho's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 96 minutes into the match, Castilho's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Fernandes came free, but Genílson Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Flamengo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
