After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro EC's Cauan Araújo got a free kick in the 27th minute. Umberts Birkenšteins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Hortêncio Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Umberts Birkenšteins got free with Hortêncio Machado in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 35th minute Robinho Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hortêncio Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacek Brack in the 39th minute of the match. If Umberts Birkenšteins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Leokin F.C booed when Cruzeiro EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Umberts Birkenšteins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leokin F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Umberts Birkenšteins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hortêncio Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fabiano Bueno's late challenge caught a Leokin F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabiano Bueno helped the player get up and apologised. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cruzeiro EC! In the 82nd minute there was a penalty for Leokin F.C. Osvaldinho Leão stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hortêncio Machado. 2-2. After 84 played minutes Cruzeiro EC got a freekick which was hit by Olívio Veloso. If Jacek Brack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leokin F.C were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
