Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) Telmo Bertassi started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Tião Costa hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Décio Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor da Silva having to interfere. Cafuta's Telmo Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 27th minute Décio Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor da Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aírton Massa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Falcão Meireles in the 28th minute of the match. When Falcão Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Macuxiri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Falcão Meireles couldn't finish the play. Nestor da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Bertassi in the 34th minute of play. Décio Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovani Lucas during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Macuxiri fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Falcão Meireles to make the kick off. If Telmo Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Dedê Guimarães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Cafuta's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
