Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gonçalo Senna made the kick off and thus started the match. After having played for 5 minutes, Gonçalo Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gerinaldo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7th minute of the match Falcão Arantes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dagoberto Machado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 13th minute, Arnaldo Guimarães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rony Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Gonçalo Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonçalo Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jorge Zilles came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Gerinaldo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Zilles couldn't finish the play. When Gerinaldo's Gonçalo Senna, in the 25th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Gerinaldo. In the 28th minute Arnaldo Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Eduardo Paes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 33 played minutes, Esporte Clube Baitas's Paulo Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rony Quirino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esporte Clube Baitas reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Clube Baitas's zone, Jorge Zilles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Machado came out of the goal and Jorge Zilles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 42 played minutes Esporte Clube Baitas got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luiz Rezende. Sílvio Luiz Rezende kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Gonçalo Senna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gerinaldo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Eduardo Paes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Luiz Eduardo Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Guimarães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Rony Quirino made a huge save. Gonçalo Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. With his leg Rony Quirino managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Esporte Clube Baitas's Arnaldo Guimarães fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Arnaldo Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Rony Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Gonçalo Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th minute, Sílvio Luiz Rezende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esporte Clube Baitas's Dagoberto Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Senna in the 79th minute of play. When Gonçalo Senna came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Gerinaldo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonçalo Senna couldn't finish the play. Gerinaldo's Jorge Zilles got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Gonçalo Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dagoberto Machado. Esporte Clube Baitas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gonçalo Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 88 played minutes Esporte Clube Baitas got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Dracena. If Jorge Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gerinaldo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
