The referee ignored Palmeiras's protests and gave Edvaldo Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Edvaldo Corrêa got a free kick in the 14th minute. Róbson Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Damião in the 19th minute of play. Bernardo Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Róbson Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Mumbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cleiton Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tarcisio de Carvalho got free with Vladimir Massa in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vladimir Massa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cleiton Palmeira in the 41st minute. Róbson Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Mumbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Róbson Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Mumbach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If David Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Cleiton Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Vladimir Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbson Carioca having to interfere. Róbson Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Damião in the 71st minute of the match. Edgar Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Vladimir Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleiton Palmeira in the 82nd minute of play. When Felicidale's David Damião in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palmeiras's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Felicidale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Cleiton Palmeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Felicidale's Patrick Albuquerque got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Palmeiras supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Felicidale's performance. The match ended with a win for Felicidale.
