The referee ignored Venceslau SC's protests and gave Júnior Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes Venceslau SC got a freekick which was hit by Júnior Schmidt. If Gildo Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Venceslau SC's zone, Nildo Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Braga came out of the goal and Nildo Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. When Raúl Arce came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Músicos Siris fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Arce couldn't finish the play.
