Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luiz Guilherme Guimarães kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Dário Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Clube Nova Granada United booed when Luzitania SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Clube Nova Granada United's Sebastião de Senna in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Luzitania SC's goalie prevented a goal. After 14 played minutes Clube Nova Granada United got a freekick which was hit by Rony Mazza. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Nova Granada United's zone, Luiz Guilherme Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilson Massa came out of the goal and Luiz Guilherme Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luiz Guilherme Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastião de Senna in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristóvão Quadros saved Luzitania SC from getting behind. Luiz Guilherme Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony Mazza in the 28th minute of play forced Luzitania SC's goalkeeper Cristóvão Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Luzitania SC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Alexsandro Montenegro hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Luzitania SC's zone, Sebastião de Senna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Quadros came out of the goal and Sebastião de Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Guerra struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Gilson Massa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luzitania SC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Cristóvão Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Mazza in the 57th minute of the match. Abelardo Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Gilson Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Clube Nova Granada United defense, Luiz Guilherme Guimarães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilson Massa. The Clube Nova Granada United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilson Massa should have stopped the shot. Clube Nova Granada United's Gilson Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme Guimarães in the 65th minute of play. When Abelardo Guerra came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Luzitania SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Guerra couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute, Luiz Guilherme Guimarães left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luzitania SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Luiz Guilherme Guimarães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilson Massa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Clube Nova Granada United's Gilson Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme Guimarães in the 79th minute of play. Rony Mazza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristóvão Quadros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Clube Nova Granada United's Carlos Eduardo Leal got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Belmiro Goiano fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luzitania SC's protests and gave Belmiro Goiano a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Luzitania SC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play.
