Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Deivid Silveira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Agnaldo Furtado. 0-1. With a little luck, Arengas FC's Leonel Fonseca got control of the ball when Basílio Gonçalves tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, Alfredo Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramón Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Luisinho Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Arengas FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Basílio Gonçalves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 44th minute Luisinho Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raimundo Rocha hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Alfredo Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Brete booed when Arengas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Luisinho Massa made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Mangueira during the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matías Paraíba in the 92nd minute of play forced Brete's goalkeeper Agnaldo Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute of the match, Adelino Eger got a very nice opportunity to score, but Agnaldo Furtado was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luisinho Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonel Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 101st minute. Although Brete had been in control for most of the match, Arengas FC still came away with the win.
