When Allan Dias fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Suez's protests and gave Allan Dias a yellow card for diving instead. Allan Dias hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Dagoberto Quintal scored 0-2 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orlando Capixaba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Dagoberto Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Floripa FC's Orlando Capixaba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Proença in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Ezequiel Seco reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Walmir Paiva. The goal made the score 1-2. When Pedro Luiz Camargo fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Floripa FC's protests and gave Pedro Luiz Camargo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, Floripa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Camargo to maneuver through the defense. Orlando Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th match minute, Suez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the match, Floripa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Quintal came free, but Orlando Capixaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ezequiel Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. João Paulo Salles hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Walmir Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Diogo de Sena's late challenge caught a Floripa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diogo de Sena helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes Suez got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Figueiredo. Orlando Capixaba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Suez. Orlando Capixaba made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Dito Proença sent off a good shot on target. If Dagoberto Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The Floripa FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Suez's performance. The match ended with a win for Suez.
