Luís Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Mattos in the 4th minute of play. Luís Paraibano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caetano Arruda went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Thomás Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Tab having to interfere. 13 minutes into the game, Luisinho Nunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panon AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EC Conceição the free kick. Luisinho Nunes hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Panon AD's goal looked a bit too open when César Mattos came free, but Luís Paraibano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caetano Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Luís Paraibano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Paraibano made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Caetano Arruda sent off a good shot on target. Caetano Arruda struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Luís Paraibano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EC Conceição. Benê de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Tab made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomás Baptista in the 30th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Falcão Munhoz got free with Luís Paraibano in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panon AD's Luís Paraibano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Panon AD from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Caetano Arruda took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Luís Paraibano to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Mattos in the 46th minute of play forced Panon AD's goalkeeper Luís Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. César Mattos was the one to do the kick off. Luís Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th match minute, EC Conceição was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manoel Pires to maneuver through the defense. Cláudio Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. The supporters of Panon AD booed when EC Conceição was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Luiz Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Paraibano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Mattos in the 69th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caetano Arruda in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Paraibano saved Panon AD from getting behind. Panon AD's Luís Paraibano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Mattos in the 72nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Panon AD's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Arruda came free, but Luís Paraibano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. EC Conceição's Sílvio Luiz Ferraz got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Benê de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panon AD's protests and gave Benê de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Panon AD's Benê de Queiroz got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 84th minute Caetano Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paraibano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Caetano Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, César Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Conceição's supporters rose to their feet, but César Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Paraibano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. EC Conceição walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
