After a defensive mix-up in Douradinho's zone, Kaká Hermes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denílson Simão came out of the goal and Kaká Hermes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kaká Hermes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Denílson Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Eriberto de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michel de Lara was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the game, one of Manoel FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for Douradinho. Luiz Fábio Monteiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Geovânio Coutinho. 0-2. In the 22nd minute, Kaká Hermes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Kaká Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chiquinho Albuquerque struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Geovânio Coutinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Douradinho. When Douradinho's Chiquinho Albuquerque in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee ignored Manoel FC's protests and gave Eriberto de Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Manoel FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Eriberto de Carvalho hit a great ball. Valério Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Coutinho having to interfere. Geovânio Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valério Loyola in the 45th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valério Loyola stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Douradinho's Carlos Augusto Munhoz got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 55 minutes into the match, Manoel FC's Kaká Hermes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denílson Simão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the game, Valério Loyola recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Geovânio Coutinho. Valério Loyola showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Douradinho's Chiquinho Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valério Loyola received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Geovânio Coutinho came out and tried to block the shot, but Valério Loyola slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the game, Chiquinho Albuquerque cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Geovânio Coutinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Manoel FC's zone, Valério Loyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat.
