Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Dé da Rocha made the kick off which started today's match. Dé da Rocha scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romeu Araújo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flávio Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrique Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Soldiers's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dé da Rocha 19 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Marcos Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Araújo having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in GREMIO's zone, Geovânio Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flávio Faria came out of the goal and Geovânio Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Romeu Araújo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Arlindo Vargas. Carlos Augusto Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flávio Faria having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Romeu Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Flávio Faria made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Carlos Augusto Donatello sent off a good shot on target. Henrique Sabóia took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flávio Faria. Flávio Faria dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Flávio Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Sabóia in the 61st minute of play. Nando Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Romeu Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Augusto Donatello in the 68thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Flávio Faria, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 71st minute, Dé da Rocha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GREMIO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 78th minute Francisco Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé da Rocha in the 84th minute of the match. Carlos Augusto Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flávio Faria having to interfere. Dé da Rocha took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romeu Araújo. Romeu Araújo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. A collision led to GREMIO getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Francisco Cruz hit a great ball. There was no doubt that GREMIO were the better team. GREMIO's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
