The tension between the Itarana and the Beto F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Itarana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luís de Brito to maneuver through the defense. When Beto F.C's Alessandro Borges in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee felt a red card was in order, 37 minutes into the game, when Sérgio Penha put in a rough tackle. In the 39th minute there was a penalty for Beto F.C. Sidnei Peixoto stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Albertinho Xavier. 0-3. In the 47th minute, Alessandro Borges ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albertinho Xavier was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Paulo Quadros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Albertinho Xavier managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Beto F.C's Alessandro Borges fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Beto F.C's goalkeeper Sabino de Mendonça, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When José Paulo Quadros fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itarana's protests and gave José Paulo Quadros a yellow card for diving instead. Sabino de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo Quadros in the 61st minute of the match. Sabino de Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albertinho Xavier was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alessandro Borges showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 88 minute of play. Beto F.C's Sabino de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Quadros in the 94th minute of play.
