The supporters of Jaraguá Atlético Clube booed when Cotia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Paulo da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luizinho Esteves got free with César Rosa in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, Cotia's goalkeeper César Rosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luizinho Esteves. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizinho Esteves couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaraguá Atlético Clube's Mathias Medeiros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of César Rosa. That made the score 1-0 after 34 minutes of play. With 38 minutes on the clock, Sílvio Mattos commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Luizinho Esteves had several of the Cotia's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 43 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed César Rosa as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Luizinho Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. After 79 played minutes, Cotia's Oscar Breckenfeld shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Victor de Mendonça came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cotia reached it.
