Olívio Saraiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anísio Munhoz in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Zilda FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Augusto Siqueira was slow to take the kick. During this time Candoy's players had a chance to rest. Augusto Siqueira made a great header on Candoy's corner, it was just that Zilda FC's Olívio Saraiva managed to reach the ball for a save. Olívio Saraiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felippe Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Paulo Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Anísio Munhoz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. If Felippe Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Eduardo Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Olívio Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Candoy's goalkeeper Cosme Viviano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcos Prata. Anísio Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olívio Saraiva having to interfere. With a little luck, Candoy's Cosme Viviano got control of the ball when Aílton Pires tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 47th minute, Candoy's Cícero Coutinho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cícero Coutinho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Candoy protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cícero Coutinho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Candoy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zilda FC:s goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The Zilda FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Candoy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Zilda FC.
