Chico Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Geroki's Délio Antunes quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Wellington Toscano, made in the 7th minute of the game. Wellington Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Eliseu Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Diniz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adilson Lopes came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Fernando Diniz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. Wellington Toscano struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Eliseu Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dragões Azuis. When Kaká Mendes fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dragões Azuis's protests and gave Kaká Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Fernando Diniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adilson Lopes having to interfere. Adilson Lopes was a little too slow when Carlos Fernando Diniz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 2-0. Narciso Messias struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Adilson Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Geroki. Adilson Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adilson Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narciso Messias in the 46th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Carlos Fernando Diniz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Adilson Lopes, 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Peixoto was the one to do the kick off. Dragões Azuis's Adilson Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Diniz in the 54th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Geroki's goalkeeper Eliseu Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wellington Toscano. Lenílson Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Lenílson Alves hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Geroki's goalkeeper Eliseu Andrade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adilson Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Diniz in the 81st minute of the match. Jaime Peixoto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adilson Lopes having to make a save. Dragões Azuis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. After having played for 98 minutes, Carlos Fernando Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geroki's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Fernando Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Geroki fully deserved thier win.
