Gilson Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Arapiranga's Murillo Ribeiro got a free kick in the 9th minute. Arapiranga's Nuno Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Meirelles in the 9th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elói Pimenta got free with Paulinho Soeiro in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luisão da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Nico Zanette got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulinho Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Bezerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Arapiranga's Elói Pimenta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcelo Mota in the 31 minute of the game. Paulinho Soeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Bezerra in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Piauna SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. Luisão da Mata, 34 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Arapiranga's Gilson Bezerra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulinho Soeiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arapiranga's Luisão da Mata got his second yellow card of the match in the 47th minute. The referee ordered Luisão da Mata off the ground. Roberto Meirelles walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adrian Racoviță stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Piauna SC's zone, Gilson Bezerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulinho Soeiro came out of the goal and Gilson Bezerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the game, Nico Zanette threw the ball into play from the sideline. Arapiranga's Betão da Costa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 64th minute, Betão da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nuno Furtado came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Piauna SC's Adrian Racoviță. But to his dismay, Adrian Racoviță quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Adrian Racoviță could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Nuno Furtado made a huge save. Paulinho Soeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Bezerra in the 91st minute of the match. The Arapiranga fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Piauna SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
