WAIO's Cipriano Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save WAIO from getting a goal against them. Luiz Gustavo França hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that João Carlos Meira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carlos Damião was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. 10 minutes into the match, WAIO's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo José Loureiro came free, but Cipriano Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of WAIO booed when Florencio EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute of the game, Abelardo Félix landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Florencio EC's Luiz Eduardo de Amorim was substituted for Abelardo Félix. After 15 played minutes WAIO got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Quintal. After having played for 17 minutes, João Carlos Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. WAIO's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Carlos Meira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vito Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute, Florencio EC's Fausto Zilles ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cipriano Gaspar. Cipriano Gaspar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Cipriano Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Zilles in the 25th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes WAIO got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Quintal. Paulo José Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the game, Fausto Zilles recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cipriano Gaspar. Fausto Zilles showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Gustavo França during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luiz Gustavo França kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. When WAIO's João Carlos Meira in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 48th minute Paulo José Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cipriano Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rui Nogueira made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Rui Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Carlos Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Florencio EC booed when WAIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in WAIO's zone, Paulo José Loureiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano Gaspar came out of the goal and Paulo José Loureiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vito Nóbrega hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Cipriano Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo José Loureiro in the 65th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Florencio EC's Diego de Lara got a free kick in the 65th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Rui Nogueira notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Florencio EC's João Carlos Damião. João Carlos Damião was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. João Carlos Damião was a little too slow when Décio Freitas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 2-2. Diego de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Cipriano Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Carlos Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Evaristo Lara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cipriano Gaspar. WAIO's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cipriano Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Fausto Zilles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cipriano Gaspar. WAIO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Zilles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Paulo José Loureiro scored 4-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cipriano Gaspar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. João Carlos Damião showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorival Quintal in the 94th minute of the match. João Carlos Meira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but João Carlos Damião made a huge save. Cipriano Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Florencio EC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
