Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute, Flávio Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kurt Lambert got free with Aníbal Nogueira in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute Artur Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Dudley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, CORINTHIANS's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís Toscano came free, but Gabriel Dudley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kurt Lambert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sílvio Luís Toscano was the one to do the kick off. Gabriel Dudley made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Artur Tasso sent off a good shot on target. Gabriel Dudley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Artur Tasso went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.
