Sílvio Luís Toscano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Ademir Fontes made a huge save. Armindo Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Aníbal Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Falido's Aníbal Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Fontes in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 20 minutes, Reinaldo Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desportivo Capixaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reinaldo Vander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ademir Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbson Barros in the 22nd minute of the match. If Reinaldo Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernani Quirino charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernani Quirino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Hernani Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sílvio Luís Toscano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Ademir Fontes made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erivaldo Vale got free with Ademir Fontes in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Falido's Breno Rodrigues suffered a fractured collar bone after 33 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 33 played minutes Desportivo Capixaba got a freekick which was hit by Armindo Fontes. After having played for 34 minutes, Sílvio Luís Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Falido's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luís Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Desportivo Capixaba defense, Sílvio Luís Toscano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ademir Fontes. The Desportivo Capixaba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ademir Fontes should have stopped the shot. If Sílvio Luís Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reinaldo Vander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Falido was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Botelho to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Falido's Joel de Andrade got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Aníbal Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo Vander in the 54th minute of play. When Flávio Varela fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desportivo Capixaba's protests and gave Flávio Varela a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Falido booed when Desportivo Capixaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flávio Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute of the match Joel de Andrade shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ademir Fontes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Falido's Erivaldo Vale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ademir Fontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th match minute, Desportivo Capixaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Quirino to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Sílvio Luís Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joel de Andrade hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Falido's Aníbal Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Vander in the 71st minute of play. If Armindo Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramiro Pinho made in the 75th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Sílvio Luís Toscano however managed to control. Armindo Fontes got his second yellow card in the match during the 79th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 80th match minute, Desportivo Capixaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armindo Fontes to maneuver through the defense. Róbson Barros got a throw-in 82 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Leandro Barreto. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Sílvio Luís Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Falido's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luís Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ademir Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luís Toscano in the 85th minute of play forced Desportivo Capixaba's goalkeeper Ademir Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute Ramiro Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademir Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Falido were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Desportivo Capixaba's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel de Andrade took the corner. Ademir Fontes came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Falido's Sílvio Luís Toscano. But to his dismay, Sílvio Luís Toscano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
