In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Botashow's goalkeeper Tião Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, Eriberto Ribeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Botashow's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guapiara the free kick. In the 14th play minute João Augusto de Godoi came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tião Souto. 1-0. Diego Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Botashow's zone, Fernandinho Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tião Souto came out of the goal and Fernandinho Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Guapiara had played much better football throughout.
