Gilmar Bittencourt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Luiz Fernando Coelho made a huge save. The supporters of Xixas booed when Bardoock was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuca Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 9 in the game by Gilmar Bittencourt from a close distance when the talented Luiz Fernando Coelho managed to make a qualified save. Bardoock's players were relieved. The Xixas fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Xixas's Gilmar Bittencourt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mauro Godoi hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Rodolfo Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Xixas's Rodolfo Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Mineiro in the 19th minute of play. Luiz Fernando Coelho came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Xixas's Gilmar Bittencourt. But to his dismay, Gilmar Bittencourt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Gilmar Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuca Proença in the 31st minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Ezequiel de Toledo sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Luiz Fernando Coelho threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Ezequiel de Toledo this time. In the 40th minute, Alfredinho Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Augusto Mesquita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Gilmar Bittencourt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 47th minute José Augusto Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Samuca Proença to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 57 minutes, Wanderson de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bardoock's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wanderson de Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Samuca Proença kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rodolfo Teles. That made the score 2-1 in the 59 minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Xixas's goalkeeper Rodolfo Teles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Andrade. Luiz Fernando Coelho came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Xixas's Gilmar Bittencourt. But to his dismay, Gilmar Bittencourt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Xixas's Rodolfo Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Proença in the 79th minute of play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Xixas's goalkeeper Rodolfo Teles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Cesinha Jacinto notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Xixas's Rodolfo Teles. Rodolfo Teles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 93 minutes into the match, Samuca Proença had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodolfo Teles. Xixas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuca Proença was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4.
