The supporters of Mojiquicaba booed when Cearenses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mojiquicaba's zone, Antônio Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yuri Fernandez came out of the goal and Antônio Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Mojiquicaba's Yuri Fernandez got control of the ball when Antônio Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Yuri Fernandez managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Cearenses's Antônio Baiano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Mojiquicaba getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ricardinho Paiva hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute, Cearenses's Igor Andrade dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. Igor Andrade's late challenge caught a Mojiquicaba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cearenses getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Igor Andrade hit a great ball. Yuri Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cearenses's Antônio Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Igor Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yuri Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute of the match, Antônio Baiano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Yuri Fernandez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cearenses played a much better game than Mojiquicaba and deserved their victory. The Mojiquicaba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
