Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Herbert Mitus started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 4 minutes, Dráuzio de Brito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cearenses and the Desportivo Carioca F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cearenses! In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Desportivo Carioca F.C.. André Luís de Queiroz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Olívio Koehler. 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Igor Andrade came free, but Durvalino Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Durvalino Guerra made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Antônio Baiano sent off a good shot on target. Esteban Salinas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Esteban Salinas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute Esteban Salinas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olívio Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Emílio Aguiar scored to the left of an out of position Durvalino Guerra, making the score, 1-1. Olívio Koehler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herbert Mitus went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Mitus in the 26th minute of play forced Cearenses's goalkeeper Olívio Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cearenses's Igor Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th match minute, Cearenses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Bueno to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Cearenses's zone, Esteban Salinas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olívio Koehler came out of the goal and Esteban Salinas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With 35 minutes on the clock, Patrick Freitas commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 37th minute, Cearenses got a penalty, and Dráuzio de Brito placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. 43 minutes into the match, Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s goalkeeper Durvalino Guerra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antônio Baiano. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Igor Andrade made the kick off in the second half. Durvalino Guerra came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Cearenses's Igor Andrade. But to his dismay, Igor Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Antônio Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Guerra having to interfere. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s goalkeeper Durvalino Guerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olívio Koehler was a little too slow when Herbert Mitus got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 4-3. Durvalino Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Andrade in the 73rd minute of the match. Herbert Mitus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82ndth minute of the game Igor Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s Durvalino Guerra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Herbert Mitus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 87 minutes, Herbert Mitus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Herbert Mitus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernardinho Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herbert Mitus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 93 played minutes Cearenses got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Bueno. 95 minutes into the match, Igor Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Durvalino Guerra. Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. The Cearenses players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
