Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Herbert Mitus started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Emílio Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Herbert Mitus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Herbert Mitus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olívio Koehler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Igor Andrade took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durvalino Guerra. Durvalino Guerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Antônio Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteban Salinas came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Olívio Koehler could save by the left post. 21 minutes into the match, Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Igor Andrade came free, but Durvalino Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Cearenses getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Emílio Aguiar hit a great ball. Esteban Salinas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Olívio Koehler skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 25thth minute of the game Antônio Baiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s Durvalino Guerra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luisinho de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Baiano came free, but Durvalino Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Esteban Salinas came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Desportivo Carioca F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esteban Salinas couldn't finish the play. After 37 played minutes Cearenses got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Bueno. 38 minutes into the match, Herbert Mitus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olívio Koehler. Cearenses's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herbert Mitus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Luisinho de Souza's late challenge caught a Cearenses's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luisinho de Souza helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s Luisinho de Souza got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Igor Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Durvalino Guerra came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Cearenses's Antônio Baiano. But to his dismay, Antônio Baiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half Cearenses were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Andrade to make the kick off. Esteban Salinas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Olívio Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Igor Andrade came free, but Durvalino Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 64 minutes, Antônio Baiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cearenses and the Desportivo Carioca F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cearenses getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Antônio Baiano hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Herbert Mitus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olívio Koehler was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. With a little luck, Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s Durvalino Guerra got control of the ball when Antônio Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emílio Aguiar hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Olívio Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herbert Mitus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herbert Mitus in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olívio Koehler saved Cearenses from getting behind. Olívio Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Mitus, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Esteban Salinas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olívio Koehler having to make a save. André Luís de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Desportivo Carioca F.C. fully deserved thier win.
