In the 6th minute Gabriel da Mata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sydney Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício Mendes having to interfere. Michel Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donato Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Viannopolis's zone, Donato Valadares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Álvaro Reis came out of the goal and Donato Valadares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Michel Motta's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Fabrício Mendes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gabriel da Mata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudinei Proença's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Fabrício Mendes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Donato Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Álvaro Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rômulo Barral during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rômulo Barral hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel da Mata to make the kick off. If Michel Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Rômulo Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vista Alegre's Fabrício Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel da Mata in the 69th minute of play. Fabrício Mendes came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Viannopolis's Sydney Arantes. But to his dismay, Sydney Arantes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Fabrício Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 81 minutes, Sydney Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Viannopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sydney Arantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Vista Alegre's Valério Baptista got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 85 minutes into the game, Gabriel da Mata cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Fabrício Mendes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabrício Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Viannopolis fully deserved thier win.
