With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Cruz in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manfredo Paiva saved SPORT ERN from getting behind. William Cruz struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Manfredo Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brazopolis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá Sarmento in the 48th minute of play forced SPORT ERN's goalkeeper Manfredo Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cacá Sarmento was the one to do the kick off. Rubinho Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Loyola in the 51st minute of play. Cacá Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manfredo Paiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cacá Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, William Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brazopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but William Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manfredo Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cacá Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edgard Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Rubinho Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SPORT ERN's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 73rd minute of the match Dinei Fonseca shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manfredo Paiva showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. William Cruz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Manfredo Paiva made a huge save. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manfredo Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Cacá Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, William Cruz notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of SPORT ERN's Manfredo Paiva. Manfredo Paiva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. William Cruzs short, quick shot in the 97thth minute got Manfredo Paiva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Brazopolis players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
