Evaristo Monteiro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Edvaldo Pinheiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amílton Paranaense's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Edvaldo Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Cearense in the 15th minute of the match. Amílton Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Edvaldo Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Saldanha FC booed when Ponta Grossa Lightning was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvaldo Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Edvaldo Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséias Cavalcante in the 23rd minute of the match. Ponta Grossa Lightning's Edvaldo Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséias Cavalcante in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute Amílton Paranaense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvaldo Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doriva Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 37th minute, Evaristo Monteiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ponta Grossa Lightning fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Edvaldo Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amílton Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Ponta Grossa Lightning's Alessandro Berger got a free kick in the 40th minute. Alessandro Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Gualter Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Saldanha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bartlomiej Wojtyna came free, but Gualter Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oséias Cavalcante was the one to do the kick off. Tião Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tião Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ponta Grossa Lightning's Tião Fernandes got a free kick in the 56th minute. Evaristo Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 63 played minutes Saldanha FC got a freekick which was hit by Cleiton Toledo. After some careless play in the Saldanha FC defense, Evaristo Monteiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gualter Amaral. The Saldanha FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gualter Amaral should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evaristo Monteiro in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gualter Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 68th minute, Bartlomiej Wojtyna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Saldanha FC's Anísio Camargo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edvaldo Pinheiro. That made the score 3-2 after 71 minutes of play. After 75 played minutes Ponta Grossa Lightning got a freekick which was hit by Umberto Nóbrega. In the 81st minute, Doriva Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd match minute, Ponta Grossa Lightning was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Evaristo Monteiro notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Saldanha FC's Gualter Amaral. Gualter Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edvaldo Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséias Cavalcante in the 90th minute of the match. Evaristo Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ponta Grossa Lightning walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
