Gilberto Soeiro made in the 9th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jerônimo de Amorim however managed to control. 10 minutes into the match, Oiticiquinha AD's goal looked a bit too open when Dieguinho da Costa came free, but Doriva Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oiticiquinha AD's Doriva Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington de Brito in the 13th minute of play. André Luiz Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doriva Fernandes came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Showza FC's Washington de Brito. But to his dismay, Washington de Brito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 22 minutes into the game, Showza FC's Jerônimo de Amorim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Doriva Fernandes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Raí Rosado made in the 25th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Oiticiquinha AD's Alberto Figueiredo. 32 minutes into the match, Oiticiquinha AD's goal looked a bit too open when Washington de Brito came free, but Doriva Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilmar de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the game, Raí Rosado threw the ball into play from the sideline. Oiticiquinha AD's Federico Duardo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 39 minutes into the match, Oiticiquinha AD's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo de Amorim came free, but Doriva Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oiticiquinha AD's Ramiro Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geovânio Varela hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Boyan Rodev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdir Souza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. The supporters of Showza FC booed when Oiticiquinha AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luiz Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nilmar de Sousa to make the kick off. Nilmar de Sousa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Doriva Fernandes came out and tried to block the shot, but Nilmar de Sousa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 52nd minute. 56 minutes into the game, Ramiro Torres cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Valdir Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nilmar de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Doriva Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ramiro Torres came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Oiticiquinha AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Torres couldn't finish the play. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Oiticiquinha AD! Raí Rosado shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar de Sousa in the 82nd minute of play forced Oiticiquinha AD's goalkeeper Doriva Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Boyan Rodev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the game, Raí Rosado threw the ball into play from the sideline. Oiticiquinha AD's Ramiro Torres quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The Showza FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Showza FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
