The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Zé Pedro Recife dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Orlando Félix, 1-0. Orlando Félix was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zé Pedro Recife showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. Potengi's Orlando Félix proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Potengi from getting a goal against them. 18 minutes into the match, Potengi's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Pedro Recife came free, but Orlando Félix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cuma FC booed when Potengi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amauri Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jânio Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Pedro Recife in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Félix prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Ronaldo Matos fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potengi's protests and gave Ronaldo Matos a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cuma FC booed when Potengi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jânio Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Félix having to interfere. Jânio Gerber took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Orlando Félix. Orlando Félix dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Jânio Gerbers short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Orlando Félix to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cuma FC's Zé Pedro Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Orlando Félix came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Cuma FC's Jânio Gerber. But to his dismay, Jânio Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dito Pirani stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Potengi's zone, Zé Pedro Recife stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlando Félix came out of the goal and Zé Pedro Recife tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cuma FC's Zé Pedro Recife in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Potengi's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 62 minutes, Jânio Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuma FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jânio Gerber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jânio Gerber struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Orlando Félix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cuma FC. In the 68th minute Zé Pedro Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Félix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Pedro Recife got in the 70th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Orlando Félix handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. If Jânio Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Félix came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Cuma FC's Jânio Gerber. But to his dismay, Jânio Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jânio Gerber in the 93rd minute of play forced Potengi's goalkeeper Orlando Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94thth minute of the game Zé Pedro Recife who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Potengi's Orlando Félix was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute, Jânio Gerber made a precise shot to the right of Orlando Félix. Potengi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. There was no doubt that Cuma FC were the better team. Cuma FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
