But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arlindo Diniz couldn't finish the play. Cafu Maciel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Durval de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sport Club Corinthians getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Washington Paes hit a great ball. If Cafu Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 played minutes Sport Club Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Washington Paes. Cafu Maciel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval de Amorim having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Arlindo Diniz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Durval de Amorim was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. 30 minutes into the match, Itapocu's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo Diniz came free, but Durval de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adalmo Pernambucanos short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Chicão Massa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Zachary Augustyn came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Itapocu fans jumped to their feet. In the 39th minute Zachary Augustyn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Sport Club Corinthians's goalkeeper Chicão Massa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agnaldo Fantini. 44 minutes into the game, Walmyr Brito threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sport Club Corinthians's Caetano Marques quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Arlindo Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Zachary Augustyn notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sport Club Corinthians's Chicão Massa. Chicão Massa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 78th minute, Zachary Augustyn made a precise shot to the right of Chicão Massa. Sport Club Corinthians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 81 minutes into the match, Cafu Maciel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Durval de Amorim, 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agnaldo Fantini in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chicão Massa saved Sport Club Corinthians from getting behind. In the 90th minute, Sport Club Corinthians's Arlindo Diniz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Durval de Amorim. Durval de Amorim yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-2. When Cafu Maciel fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Club Corinthians's protests and gave Cafu Maciel a yellow card for diving instead. Cafu Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Washington Paes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 96 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sport Club Corinthians fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! When the referee ended the match the Itapocu players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
