Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amílton Rezende in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reinaldo Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 8th minute, Amílton Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Paulo Guedes's late challenge caught a Maga de Indaial's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Paulo Guedes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ferradas's Zé Paulo Guedes got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute Adelino de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amílton Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ferradas booed when Maga de Indaial was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Carlos Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cícero da Mata might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reinaldo Paiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cícero da Mata ran back to his position shaking his head. The long shot by Diogo Garcia in the 23rd minute really tested Luís Eduardo Simões's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Amílton Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferradas's Cícero da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adelino de Queirós in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luís Eduardo Simões, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cícero da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Paiva having to interfere. Reinaldo Paiva came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Ferradas's Cícero da Mata. But to his dismay, Cícero da Mata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Maga de Indaial booed when Ferradas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualter Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amílton Rezende made a kick off. After 61st play minutes Adelino de Queirós shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Luís Eduardo Simões and just under the crossbar into goal. Reinaldo Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Amílton Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Reinaldo Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Amílton Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cícero da Mata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Reinaldo Paiva made a huge save. Ferradas's Luís Eduardo Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho do Nascimento in the 87th minute of play. Reinaldo Paiva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cícero da Mata went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Adelino de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Eduardo Simões having to interfere. In the 95th minute Maurício Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 99th minute by Cícero da Mata got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ferradas were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
