Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when João Francisco Penha made the kick off which started today's match. After 3 minutes, Rodolfo Lira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Morrao SS and the Murici EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rodolfo Lira hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 4th minute, João Francisco Penha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Rodolfo Lira was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 7 minutes had been played. The supporters of Murici EC booed when Morrao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonsinho Linares was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hélio Pirani. Celsinho Bittencourt scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonsinho Linares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Penha in the 15th minute of play forced Morrao SS's goalkeeper Afonsinho Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celsinho Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Afonsinho Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Sílvio Luís Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emerson Ferraz got free with Afonsinho Linares in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Albertino Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Barros having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Morrao SS's goal looked a bit too open when João Francisco Penha came free, but Afonsinho Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Afonsinho Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Murici EC's zone, Albertino Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giuseppe Barros came out of the goal and Albertino Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Francisco Penha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonsinho Linares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Murici EC's Celsinho Bittencourt got a free kick in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagoberto Carvalho got free with Giuseppe Barros in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Celsinho Bittencourt came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Murici EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celsinho Bittencourt couldn't finish the play. Dagoberto Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute, João Francisco Penha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Murici EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. If Dagoberto Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Penha in the 78th minute of play forced Morrao SS's goalkeeper Afonsinho Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Albertino Matorin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giuseppe Barros was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emerson Ferraz in the 81st minute of play forced Morrao SS's goalkeeper Afonsinho Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Morrao SS's Albertino Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiaguinho Nascimento thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Giuseppe Barros, a very annoying self made goal in the 93rd minute which led to 2-2. Dagoberto Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Giuseppe Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Murici EC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
