Villa Deodoro F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Kléber Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deivid Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Fabiano Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deivid Salgado having to interfere. When Eurico Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
