Spectators: 7229 (Terracing: 5423, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Walmyr Porto got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, FC Leões's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Pedro Souza came free, but Durvalino Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th play minute Raphael Cordeiro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Durvalino Fantini. 1-0. After 10 played minutes FC Leões got a freekick which was hit by Romeu Koehler. A hard shot by Zé Augusto de Toledo from long distance, 11 minutes into the match, got Durvalino Fantini's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 14th minute Walmyr Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidnei Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th match minute, Itumbiarense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Souza to maneuver through the defense. Durvalino Fantini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Pedro Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After some careless play in the Itumbiarense defense, Walmyr Porto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sidnei Mota. The Itumbiarense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sidnei Mota should have stopped the shot. Zé Pedro Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Fantini having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Michel Jacinto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Leões's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itumbiarense the free kick. A collision led to FC Leões getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Michel Jacinto hit a great ball. Álvaro Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raphael Cordeiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Durvalino Fantini firmly grabbed it by the left post. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Pedro Souza to make the kick off. Álvaro Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Itumbiarense's Raphael Cordeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Durvalino Fantini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zé Pedro Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Fantini having to interfere. Raphael Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Durvalino Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Zé Pedro Souza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Durvalino Fantini was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. If Raphael Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidnei Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Porto in the 76th minute of play. Zé Pedro Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Itumbiarense booed when FC Leões was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeu Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute of the match Zé Augusto de Toledo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Durvalino Fantini skillfully saved the ball. Nando Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Álvaro Vale struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Sidnei Mota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Leões. After a rather tough play, FC Leões's José Maria de Sena got a free kick in the 96th minute. In the 97th minute, Raphael Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
