Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) João Adolfo Baptista started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Isaltino Passos came out of the goal and João Adolfo Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 10 minutes, Andrézinho Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santiago and the Corinthians players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Andrézinho Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th match minute, Santiago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Paulo Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute of the match João Adolfo Baptista shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isaltino Passos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Isaltino Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredão de Sena in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Sena in the 22nd minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Silvinho Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olívio Gaspar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Silvinho Pena made a huge save. Isaltino Passos came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Corinthians's Tito Trbuk. But to his dismay, Tito Trbuk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Silvinho Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Sena in the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Corinthians's João Adolfo Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isaltino Passos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rodrigo Neiva hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Silvinho Pena made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Olívio Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. If Tito Trbuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 42 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goalkeeper Silvinho Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olívio Gaspar. Silvinho Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gustavo Sena made a kick off. The Santiago fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Santiago's Natã Fernandes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Corinthians's Silvinho Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olívio Gaspar in the 55th minute of play. Silvinho Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natã Fernandes in the 58th minute of play. Santiago's Isaltino Passos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Santiago from getting a goal against them. Gustavo Sena took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvinho Pena. Silvinho Pena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 66th minute, Olívio Gaspar made a precise shot to the right of Silvinho Pena. Corinthians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Osvaldo Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Luz to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olívio Gaspar during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The tension between the Santiago and the Corinthians players grew even worse after the yellow card.
