The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, FC Leões was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléberson Leite to maneuver through the defense. Doni Bittencourt scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mattias Karu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Durvalino Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria Arósio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Isaltino de Sena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Durvalino Miranda was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 19th minute José Maria Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cido Hermes's late challenge caught a BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cido Hermes helped the player get up and apologised. After 21 played minutes FC Leões got a freekick which was hit by Cido Hermes. BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Durvalino Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Maria Arósio in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Jano Simões got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute José Maria Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FC Leões booed when BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Eduardo Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FC Leões getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Gilmar Zonta hit a great ball. If Luiz Eduardo Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the match, BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Arósio came free, but Durvalino Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isaltino de Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute, José Maria Arósio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The attack was good, but when Jano Simões in the 52nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. José Maria Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaltino de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Durvalino Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 minutes, Jano Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE and the FC Leões players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jano Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. FC Leões's José Maria Arósio got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Maria Arósio in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Durvalino Miranda saved BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE from getting behind. José Maria Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 74 minutes into the match, BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino de Sena came free, but Durvalino Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Leões booed when BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE. BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Durvalino Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaltino de Sena in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, José Maria Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Leões's supporters rose to their feet, but José Maria Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durvalino Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE's zone, Isaltino de Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Durvalino Miranda came out of the goal and Isaltino de Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the match, José Maria Arósio notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of BRUSQUE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Durvalino Miranda. Durvalino Miranda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Isaltino de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Leões's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
