Richard Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuseppe Peixoto in the 20th minute of the match. Giuseppe Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Sousa having to interfere. Sport Pipoca's Valentin Bore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Tande in the 27th minute of play. Richard Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giuseppe Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After a rather tough play, Atlético Mineiro's Benê Peres got a free kick in the 31st minute. Giuseppe Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Richard Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Pipoca. 34 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Peixoto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Richard Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 37 played minutes Sport Pipoca got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Secco. Válbson Cruz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Valentin Bore when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gustavo Secco hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After the first half Sport Pipoca were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Válbson Cruz to make the kick off. In the 62nd minute, Benê Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oséas Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clóvis Paraíba charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clóvis Paraíba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Atlético Mineiro getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Clóvis Paraíba hit a great ball. Oséas Marinho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Richard Sousa came out and tried to block the shot, but Oséas Marinho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 69th minute. In the 73rd minute, Oséas Marinho made a precise shot to the right of Richard Sousa. Atlético Mineiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. With a little luck, Atlético Mineiro's Richard Sousa got control of the ball when Oséas Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Richard Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oséas Marinho in the 91st minute. Benê Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. The supporters of Sport Pipoca booed when Atlético Mineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benê Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sport Pipoca's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
