After 15 played minutes Cangica FC got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Luz. Renan Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Arósio in the 22nd minute of play. Renan Eger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murillo Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Oséas Arruda hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in STARS's zone, Dito Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Eger came out of the goal and Dito Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dito Teles in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renan Eger saved STARS from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 55th minute, Cangica FC's Dito Teles ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Renan Eger. Renan Eger yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After 64 minutes, Hernani de Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the STARS and the Cangica FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, STARS's Hernani de Senna got a free kick in the 64th minute. Hernani de Senna was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, STARS's Remo Lara got a free kick in the 70th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Dito Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. When Dito Teles came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Cangica FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dito Teles couldn't finish the play. After having played for 88 minutes, Fábio Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cangica FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fábio Vargas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Murillo Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. STARS's Renan Eger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save STARS from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Cangica FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Fábio Vargas hit a great ball. When the match was over Cangica FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than STARS throughout the match.
