Caapiranga
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Juvenal Queirós got the match started through his kick off. When Chiquinho Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caapiranga's protests and gave Chiquinho Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. The audience held their breath when Teodoro Peixoto in the 6th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Guto Botelho's left hand side. Josué da Silva came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Caapiranga's Oswaldo de Brito. But to his dismay, Oswaldo de Brito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 13 minutes into the game, Pindoba's Dagoberto Massa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guto Botelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Juvenal Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Botelho having to interfere. Dagoberto Massa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Flavinho Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caapiranga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavinho Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Caapiranga's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Massa came free, but Guto Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Caapiranga's goalkeeper Guto Botelho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Josué da Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oswaldo de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Josué da Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flavinho Messias in the 36th minute. Oswaldo de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué da Silva having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Flavinho Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caapiranga's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavinho Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josué da Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oswaldo de Brito stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Caapiranga's Oswaldo de Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pindoba! Túlio Vidal placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Oswaldo de Brito hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Josué da Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Dagoberto Massa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guto Botelho was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Guto Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Massa in the 71st minute of play. Dagoberto Massas short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Guto Botelho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pindoba's Josué da Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavinho Messias in the 85th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aírton de Amorim during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Caapiranga's Aírton de Amorim got a free kick in the 87th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Pindoba's Álvaro Capixaba tried to score from far away in the 88th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo de Brito in the 95th minute of play forced Pindoba's goalkeeper Josué da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pindoba's zone, Oswaldo de Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué da Silva came out of the goal and Oswaldo de Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
