Guilherme Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geovânio Souza struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Guilherme Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MARAJA. Luís Fábio Moraes in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Guilherme Ramos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as MARAJA's Edvaldo Magalhães slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Guilherme Ramos. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Geovânio Souza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guilherme Ramos having to make a save. Luís Fábio Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Guilherme Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Mendonca defense, Luís Fábio Moraes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guilherme Ramos. The Mendonca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guilherme Ramos should have stopped the shot. Luís Fábio Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. The audience was convinced that Pedro Luís Vasconcelos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guilherme Ramos was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Mendonca's Guilherme Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Mendonca from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Luís Fábio Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guilherme Ramos was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a defensive mix-up in MARAJA's zone, Gildo Custódio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Alvarenga came out of the goal and Gildo Custódio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. MARAJA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
